If you follow me on Instagram and have seen my stories, you know this vanity project has been a work in progress for several weeks now (and if you don’t follow, what are ya’ waiting for? LOL) . You see, with 2 kids, a full time job and a husband to take care of (he does most of the caring though), any task we decide to take on, takes a loooonnngggg time to finish. In fact, we started renovating our Laundry room exactly 5 months ago and it is STILL on the works so stay tuned for that (take that lightly).
The vanity though was one of those things I made up my mind I wanted, and it was quickly moved to the top of my list of things to do and here it is!!!!
The plan for this vanity went thru numerous changes. It went from going on my guest room – not a good idea because then I wouldn’t be able to use when we have guests, so then I thought next to my bed would be great and remove a nightstand, but what was I going to do with the nightstand? Scratched that.
So, then a BRILLIANT idea came to mind- what if I redo my closet now (another project on the long wish-list) and that way I could incorporate my vanity inside my closet!?!
DING DING DING- onto Pinterest I went for ideas on IKEA PAX system designs and made my way out to IKEA and placed my order!
YIKES, my simple vanity project turned into an entire closet renovation. Complicating things is my forte! LOL
The delivery was set for the very next day.
PERFECT! – I thought…I will have a new closet and a new vanity in no time (yeah- right!). You might be thinking to yourself, why am I talking about my closet when this post is about my vanity, well, that is because yet again, the vanity had to find a new home because we faced a number of obstacles while putting together our IKEA closet (I will cover it all on my next post, I promise).
So now, I am deep into a closet renovation without a place for my vanity! So back to square one.
As I was breaking my head finding a new spot for my vanity, my amazing husband offered a spot in his office for it and it is PERFECT! I kinda’ sorta’ feel bad because I literally took over his office and all he has left is his desk in a corner but this man is just amazing like that! Love you babe!
So here I will show you how to re-create my vanity for under $495 and other options just as cute for a bit less!!!
IKEA items: My suggestion with IKEA, if you know what you need, is to order online and pick up in store. Much easier than roaming around their entire showroom which for me, is a full day event! :).

Now the mirror I personally got is a bit pricey, I know, but I promise it is such amazing quality! It has an outlet on the side so you can plug in your phone or speakers. Not sure you, but I NEED music when I am doing my makeup! :). It is very sturdy and it does not need to be mounted onto the wall.

I debated if you get a stool or a chair but went with the chair and I am so glad I did! I love the way this clear chair looks! I’ve also included some other cute options!
I wanted to add a little touch with a rug and this one is so affordable and so fluffy! I got a 2 x 3 for reference.

That’s it! That’s all I got to make my beautiful big-girl vanity and I am soooooo in love. Seriously, it just makes me want to do my makeup and have a little fun!
