Hi Babes,
It has taken me a couple of weeks to get this post out because I wanted to provide as much information as possible. I am a lover of all things beauty but I have never been a “makeup” girl. Don’t get me wrong, I NEED makeup to look human but am not verse on makeup brands or smokey eye techniques or getting my eyebrows to look flawless as some girls do! You know what I mean?
But truth is, the eyebrows pretty much shape the entire face- ESPECIALLY now with Covid and having to cover our faces with a mask!
I have been circling around getting my eyebrows “microbladed” but let’s be honest, it’s scary to get something “permanent” done to your face. What if you don’t like it? What if they are too dark, too thin, too wide…..? This is why it is SO IMPORTANT to do your research on the artist and their work because it is very very difficult to fix a botched job.
I have been creeping on Blakeley for about 2 years (hahaha weird I know). I have seen her posts and her work and finally decided to reach out. It wasn’t until then that I learned that not all brow Permanent Makeup is Microblading!? What?!
In fact, she no longer offers Microblading as she has moved on to a much better technique which is called Nano.
Blakeley is the only PMU artist in Charlotte offering Nano Brows and her work is simply phenomenal. Follow her work HERE
In a nutshell, microblading is the grouping of needles to form a “blade”. This blade is then used by hand to cut the skin to allow the pigmentation to come thru and create the hair strokes. This technique, while it is very popular, creates more trauma to the skin and it can take longer to heal. Also, it is important to know that Microblading can only be performed on the skin a certain amount of times before you can’t do it anymore due to scar tissue.
Nano Brows on the other hand, is a single needle used by a machine to create the hair strokes. It does require more technical skills from your artist and as you can imagine, the single punctures create much less trauma so the healing process is minimal and it lasts longer. The final look is a very natural looking brow. Everyone is a candidate for this technique!
What I got done is called Hybrid which includes the hair strokes as described above along with shading the brows to make them look fuller! (Obsessed!)
This is a 2 step process that takes about 2 months. After your initial visit, it takes about 10 days for it to heal. The brows go thru all kinds of stages I will share with you a few of the days below. My next appointment is set for December 21st so stay tuned for the final result!
At the end of this blog post, I will share with you a comparison photo between Microblading vs Nano.
Day of

Day 1:
Reddish undertones look pretty predominant.

Day 2
Red is starting to fade! They look so good already!

Day 3
Obsessed already!

Day 4
No eyebrow makeup is FANTASTIC!

Day 5
Oh the peeling! This is totally normal. Blakeley gives you an ointment to care for them!

Day 6

Day 7

Day 10

Overall, the initial visit lasted about 3 hours. Blakeley numbed the entire area so it was not painful. The are felt raw for about 2 days but that is as far as the discomfort goes.
I 100% recommend Blakeley as your Permanent makeup artist!

I cannot recommend Blakeley enough to you! If you are local, check out her work on her Instagram! It is beyond anything else I have seen (and believe me, I have done my RESEARCH!)
In a world where we are required to cover our faces with a mask, be sure to have our brows ON POINT!
